Dr. Vikram N Mehta is a Mumbai-based Consulting Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon specialising in vitreo-retinal laser micro surgeries, diabetic retinal surgeries and retinal detachment surgeries. He is currently available for consultations at the Aastha Eye and Retina Centre in Santa Cruz. He is also a visiting consultant at other hospitals in Mumbai, such as Hiranandani Hospital (Powai) and BABT Hitwardak Hospital (Kandivali).

Dr. Mehta Vikram Mehta has several qualifications to his name. In addition to an MBBS, DOMS, and MS and DNB in Ophthalmology, he has also obtained the FCPS title. Besides, he has successfully accomplished a fellowship at the national level from the Retina Foundation in Ahmedabad, and at the international level (FICO) from Paris, France. He has undergone rigorous training to achieve expertise in his field at specialised retinal surgery centres in India at the Ahmedabad Retina Foundation, and abroad, in Italy and France. He has independently performed over 1000 retinal surgeries. He strongly believes that retinal surgeries if done in time, definitely prevent blindness and restore good vision as against contrary old beliefs. He is always keen to keep abreast of challenging new technologies and advocates aggressive but judicious use of intra vitreal injections for retinal disease.

His academic interests involve attending national and international conferences, making paper presentations, writing in publications and formulating video assisted skill transfer. He has stood amongst the top ranking students throughout his academic career, including the MBBS, the post-graduate entrance, the MS (Ophthalmology) and DNB examinations. Dr. Vikram Mehta has been the recipient of several awards for his efforts, including a Certificate of Appreciation from the Speaker of the Lok Sabha for his contribution in the unique Arogya Mela.

Dr. Vikram Mehta has also been actively involved in clinical research, and has participated in several studies. He has written several papers and articles which have been published in prominent medical journals. In addition, he has also made several presentations (podium/poster/video) at various symposia and professional medical meets across the nation. Dr. Mehta is extremely passionate about his profession and believes in the credo that it's not just science, but a positive human and holistic approach that leads to better outcomes.
